The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is a US-based government organization focused on protecting consumers from fraudulent and deceptive business practices. It was established in 1914 and is headed by five commissioners who are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
The FTC is responsible for enforcing laws related to consumer protection, including fair trade practices, antitrust laws, and privacy and data security. Its main goal is to promote competition and protect consumers from unfair or deceptive practices in the marketplace.
