The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is a government body located in India that oversees the development and implementation of policies and programs related to the fields of electronic and information technology. Established in 1999 as the Department of Information Technology, MeitY was rebranded in 2016 with an expanded mandate to include electronics as well.
