Description


The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) is an independent organization that supports and promotes scientific research in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1950 by the Dutch government with the goal of enhancing the quality and competitiveness of Dutch research on a national and international level.

The organization operates under the supervision of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and has a yearly budget of approximately 1 billion euros, making it one of the largest funding agencies for scientific research in Europe. NWO
